How To Stop ItAlthough we cannot stop global warming all together, we can still reduce the impact of it by being more environmentally friendly in many ways. Some of these strategies are on a very large scale whereas some are small-scale which can be done at home. By following these strategies, you can help to prevent the many effects of global warming from happening in the future:
1) Replace your regular light bulbs with energy efficient CFL light bulbs which waste and use much less energy to light up a room in order to reduce your electricity consumption at home. It also saves a lot of money too as CFL light bulbs use up 40% less energy than standard ones. |
How To Stop It2) Avoid leaving your appliances on standby because this wastes energy at home. A TV on standby uses up 50% of energy compared to if it has been switched on. Instead, turn appliances off or take the plug out of the mains electricity.
3) Have a shower instead of having a bath as this reduces the amount of water which needs to be heated up using electricity. One uses 90% less water when having a shower than having a bath. 4) Recycle waste at home by separating the garbage into different groups. This reduces the need for materials we use to be extracted from the earth so reduces global energy usage. |
How To Stop It5) Buy heat-loss reducing materials at home such as loft-insulation and draught-proofing so that you don't have to keep the temperature of the house so high by reducing heat loss in the house.
